THE INFORMATION WAR was written as a 90 minute stage play by Louis Aquiler and Chris D’Amato for the 2018 NYC International Fringe Festival as a followup to their award winning 2016 hit Dementia Americana.
The Information War was created as a way to satirize and poke a little fun at Alex Jones and the conspiracy movement, but also to tell a deeper story about the way modern media has turned information and truth itself into a commodity to be branded and sold to an increasingly divided public.
The play struck a nerve at the 2018 Fringe Festival, sold out its entire run playing in the largest venue at the festival, and left audiences shocked, amused, and buzzing about D’Amato’s gutsy performance as Alex Jones.
Given that Jones’ medium of choice to sell his brand is internet and video, an on-camera presentation seemed like the next logical step for the project. In 2020 Louis and Chris adapted the story of the play into a wild, audacious, and easily consumable 10 episode series.
The series was shot in early 2021 and is currently in post-production.
